This set of books based in Sweetness, Georgia, a fictional town in the mountains north of Atlanta is a cheesy but fun one. The characters are easy to like and the sentimentality of trying save a small town made for pleasant reading.

Another Sweetness GA story Baby, I'm Back is In the anthology "SEAL of my Dreams.". I will be checking it out as soon as I find time.

Fever series by Katen Marie Moning

Read this series earlier this summer and loved it. The titles are: DarkFever, BloodFever, FaeFever, DreamFever and ShadowFever.

It's a mix of fantasy and romance with a defined contemporary timeline. The series is complete with the fifth book, but the possibility of further books was left open. I would love for her to explore the lives of some of the other supporting characters in this series.

Baby, Don't Go by Susan Andersen

This is a re-read but I enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

The characters are flawed but funny. They have just enough honesty to them to compel you to continue reading after the hero of the story is set up as a flake in the prologue.

The supporting cast are a good time as well... And I'm fairly certain there are no follow up books to connect to this one, but the author could have easily continued with this world.

Finished the Body Movers series

Perhaps finished is not the best description. I have read all the available books up to 6 Killer Bodies. Book four is called 4 Bodies and a Funeral and five is 5 Bodies to Die For.

Totally surprised at the conclusion of book six! Which is something that rarely happens to me.

Definitely want to recommend this series, especially if you are a fan of the Bubbles, Plum or Eve Dallas books. I think those readers will enjoy these books. Lots of mystery surrounding the supporting cast to keep you following the storylines.

Stephanie Bond's "Body Movers" series

I just fished book three of this series... And the writing has improved with each one. Surprisingly, other than the second book I have been surprised at the reveal of the "bad guy" at the end. The titles are Body Movers, 2 Bodies for the Price of 1, and 3 Men and a Body.

I must admit, I'm hooked. If we are choosing men... I'm going to go with Jack, but a lot of people will likely choose Coop... :) I suggest at least getting through the first book. If you like the two main characters you too will continue to the next story very quickly.

They move quickly, so you won't need to set aside a long time to finish them.

When the Duke Returns by Eloisa James

I really enjoyed the characters in this one. It's part of a loose series. By that I mean there are characters referenced and that play a small part in the book that are in the other books, but they are independent and sometimes overlapping storylines.

I don't think I have read them all so I need to find the rest.

Basically this was a good little historical with a decent plot and without too much unnecessary drama.

Basketball Jones by E. Lynn Harris

Heart of Courage by Kat Martin

Third in Kat Martin's series about the Heart to Heart Gazette. This one was the brother I was looking forward to, and coincidentally fit in for my Eye Spy Challenge of a title with "heart" in it from the book group.

Of course I was already familiar with the characters before this one and enjoyed their romance immensely.

There were a couple of times that I laughed, a moment when I almost cried, and even a "oh my gosh they are not going to let that happen to her" moment.

There is something so attractive about the idea of a Viking - or an almost Viking - thrust into a world where he has to learn his way... or maybe that's just me.

Overall a very entertaining couple of hours. I would recommend it to those who like historical romance.

Playlist for La Femme Nikita

Here is why I haven't been reading.. I have been rewatching all the seasons of La Femme Nikita. All five of them.

I needed to find a place to post my playlist of songs from the episodes, hopefully this works.

Foul Play by Janet Evanovich

Originally published under the name Steffie Hall, it never should have been resurrected.

I like a romantic comedy as much as the next person. However, belittling the romance part of it just irritates me.

I should have known better than to read this book. I have enjoyed the Stephanie Plum books for the most part, but the books that Janet had written before them are horrendous.

By page two, he's in love.

By page 25, he's in her house a mere fifteen minutes after meeting her.

By page 32, we've discovered she's a 26 year old virgin, and he's happy about it cause he's already decided to marry her.

Are you freaking kidding me?

This is where I send the book back to the library and say.. thank goodness I didn't buy the thing.

Harlequin American Romance Series

Okay so all the Harlequin American Romance Series books are not complete duds. There was a little more entertainment in these novels from the collection. I have a bunch of these that I bought a few years ago off ebay, so I am not absolutely convinced the one book was the exception rather than the rule. These four books were much better than the other though.

None of these were so special I have to go out and tell someone to read them all, but they served the purpose of an hour of entertainment.

Snowy Night With a Stranger - Jane Feather

To Meet the January challenge at Booklovers Group I had to read a book with Snow in the title.

This was a cute little anthology. All historicals written by authors I enjoy. A bit far fetched in the Charlie Dickens story, but I liked them none the less.

Overall the stories were sweet and entertaining, with not all that much substance. The best of the three was written by Jane Feather.

Texas Born by Ann DeFee

A part of the Harlequin American Romance Series, and if this is how horrible they all are they should just shut down the series. This book was so bad I nearly didn't finish it. The plot was so easy to figure out I had serious doubts about the safety of the people in the town since their county sheriff was such a moron.

The only thing cute in it was the Fluffy dog that they picked up.

There is nothing worse than having a novel with characters who are so out of whack from reality that they do things even fiction can't explain.

I mean seriously what investigator goes to an amusement park when there are mobsters trying to kill a friend and someone trying to break into your girlfriends house to find some missing disk. No one.

Ann DeFee, you just went on my... NEVER again list.

One of the groups I am a part of (and have been on hiatus from) is the bookloversgroup on yahoo. It's a great group run by a sweet friend of mine, Merry.

They pose different challenges during the year to keep people reading and to start conversation. Christmas Celebration - By Anne McAllister

An old book from a lot bought off ebay that I pulled off the TBR shelf. One story in this was really good... the other so horrible I couldn't finish. Sadly the one I couldn't finish was by Kasey Michaels (After having read so many of her novels it was very disconcerting to know she could write that poorly.)

I have been a busy busy girl recently.

To make it short and sweet, our company was bought out by a French financial company called Fiducial. So I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, learning new software, helping the techies, doing year end financials and stuff like that.

The goal is to catch up a few books each day for the next few weeks until I am caught up!
